Battle-Weary Dragon

Battle-Weary Dragon shawl

Knitting Pattern
This crescent shaped, beaded shawl features a unique beaded design for the scales and wing-tips. The textured shoulders of the Battle-Weary Dragon are scarred and the wing-tips are tattered.

Shawl knits up to a wingspan of 1.4 m and 70 cm deep. An additional addendum file provides details for custom sizing with different yarn weights.

Yarn:
Lace weight yarn with drape.  Silk and silk-wool blends work very well.
You will need at least 770 m (850 yds) for a wool blend and 1000 m (1100 yds) for a pure silk yarn (worked at a tighter gauge).

Needles:
Recommended needles are 3.5 mm (US 4) for wool blends or 3.25 (US 3) mm for silk.

Requires at least 490 or 626 size 6/0 beads and a beading hook or floss method. Beads are integral to the scales.

Both written and charted instructions are provided.
